London: January, no rain, what?

It seemed like my itinerary had worked me into progressively colder climes to prepare me for my mid-January return to Vancouver…home, for now. Although I was prepared to brave the notorious London weather (can’t be much different from the ‘wet coast’), the sunshine that had prevailed during the previous 3-month journey continued for the three days I was here.

From our home base in Kensington near the Queensway station, we were minutes from everything. We dined with friends in Hampstead in the coolest little Italian restaurant under the metro overpass, and we tramped around to all of the typical tourist spots like Buckingham Palace, Parliament Buildings, Westminster Abbey etc.

For our last evening in London, and final night of our European odyssey, we treated ourselves to an evening performance at the very famous Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in Soho.

Ninety days, eight countries, and countless memories later, this extended pyjama party adventure of two ordinary midlife women came to an end…with giggles and selfies in the hotel elevator.
